My Pet Chicken absolutely guarantees that the fertile hatching eggs you order from us will arrive intact and ready for incubation. Hatching egg orders may ship any day of your selected shipping week, Monday through Saturday via USPS Priority Mail. If any eggs for which you have paid arrive cracked or broken, contact us within two business days of receiving them with photos of the damage.

Important: Unbroken eggs don’t guarantee a hatch. Here’s why
We love helping you hatch your own chicks, and we want you to start with realistic expectations. So before you buy, here’s what to know.
We gather our hatching eggs daily and store them properly to keep them fresh and give them the best possible start. Even so, a 50 percent hatch rate is considered a good result for shipped eggs. That’s just an average, though. Some hatches do better, some do worse, because so many variables come into play.
First, there’s the journey. Eggs can arrive perfectly intact and still be affected by handling in the mail. Think about it: when a hen hatches eggs in the coop, she lays her whole clutch in one spot and sits right there until they hatch. She never packs them up and sends them across the country! The inside of an egg is surprisingly delicate, and shipping can disturb it even when the shell looks flawless.
Second, incubation is out of our hands. Eggs only develop into chicks when temperature and humidity stay within a very narrow range. Even a one-degree difference can keep eggs from hatching or lead to weak chicks. An inaccurate thermometer, a power outage during incubation, or an incubator that isn’t fully clean can all affect your results, and we can’t control those things from here. Results vary from hatch to hatch, even for experienced hatchers.
We guarantee your eggs will arrive intact and beautiful, but we can’t guarantee how many will hatch. If your hatch is especially low, you may qualify for our Minimum Hatch Rate Guarantee. Either way, we’re here to help. Reach out anytime with incubation questions, and we’ll gladly troubleshoot with you. Happy hatching! 🐣
